Harrison and The Great Pumpkin [Patch]

Harrison and I love the weekends! Why? Because Daddy is home!! Every Friday afternoon I say to Harrison, "When Daddy comes home tonight we get to keep him for two whole days!" and he always smiles.

Some Saturdays we get stuck at home, while I take the time Jordan plays with Harrison to catch up on all the housework I didn't get done during the week. [Jordan says Harrison hates chores and that's why he never lets us get ours done.] This Saturday, however, we took full advantage of the season and took Harrison for his very first visit to the PUMPKIN PATCH!!

He was a happy little guy on the way there...
And it wasn't that he was bad at the pumpkin patch, he was just super mellow. He didn't seem to care about all the bright colors, he was totally uninterested. He hadn't napped well in the morning, so our little tyke was just tired. But we were already there-- so we made him sit through a few pictures... okay a lot of pictures!

Even with his grump face on he still looks too cute!
Should I smile?

Hmm... NO.

I call this one, Linus and The Great Disappointing Pumpkin.
He looks so depressed, quick-- somebody give that baby some Zanax!

 Hmm, what's this?
[A cob of corn we found on the ground.]
Must put it in my mouth!

 YUMMY.
So it's a little dirty, hey, don't judge. God made dirt and dirt don't hurt.

Harrison & Daddy, matching in plaid.

 Look, Harrison, so many PUMPKINS!

 ...big orange pumpkins,

look over there...

 ...white baby pumpkins...

Interesting?
[Look how fat his cheeks are when he's sad.]

Nope.
*drops pumpkin

Not havin' it.

Oh, but wait! We finally found one he's interested in.
Hooray!
So we bought it for him...
Halloween is saved by The Great Tiny Pumpkin!

The proud new owner of a perfectly circular tiny orange pumpkin.
...ooorrrr, not so proud, but lets face it, he wasn't really feeling a
whole array of emotions this particular afternoon.

Daddy still loves you, you little grump!

Jordan made me do all the heavy lifting!
It looks like there's only one pumpkin in there, but Harrison's little pumpkin is in there too... and together they weigh like 3 pounds. Plus the wheelbarrow itself is like another 2. Come on y'all that's a whole 5 pounds I'm carting up and down these dirt pumpkin aisles!

While Daddy was paying for our pumpkins Harrison and I found just ooooone more that was the perfect size for his little baby hands. So cute!

Daddy packed our pumpkins away in the car and we hung around for a few more pictures in hopes hat Harrison's bottle and diaper change would have made a difference in his mood; as you will see below-- it    did    not.

Daddy found Harrison a John Deere tractor, now my itty bitty
farm boy can be happy...

 Or not.
But this was about the most interest he'd shown in anything all afternoon.

Can you tell who's been watching ANTM with Mommy?
Work those angles baby, WERK IT!

He really loved the hay. Not that you can tell in any of these pictures.

Just learning to sit on his own.
He really did a great job though. Seems if he has something to catch his attention, he's more apt to sit up and play with it.

Getting ready to chew on some straw like a real farmer boy!

Harrison almost got lost in the corn maze because he was too busy looking at his feet instead of looking for the way out.
Luckily Daddy was paying attention and saved the day!

It was time to give our little guy a break and no sooner than we got him in his car seat did he knock out! Such a tired little guy. We're going to try to go again sometime next week. AFTER HIS NAP. In hopes of getting this kid to crack a smile for the camera. He's usually such a ham! He must have just been so tired.
